kim and dan met in february 2003. she was the cute starbucks girl; dan was tall mocha boy. after much hoowah, dan and kim finally started dating. after a year of going out, dan finished medical school and had to move to rochester, minnesota for his internal medicine residency. lucky for dan, kim moved with him.

while in rochester, dan worked crazy hours as an intern and resident, and kim taught computer classes for the mayo clinic. outside of work, the couple soaked up rochester life and packed on the pounds to stay warm. eventually we had our first son, cooper bananas a la doopie. (a link to his webpage is on the left.) and soon thereafter, we got engaged. then we learned the pain of planning an out-of-town wedding. but our wedding in houston was just awesome. if you didn't make it, you will regret it forever.

over our 3 years in rochester, we braved enough cold weather to be an honorary eskimo, and couldn't have been happier to know warmer weather was ahead. we went from the coldest winter on record in rochester to the hottest summer on record in phoenix, where dan is completing a cardiology fellowship at mayo clinic. kim worked as a compensation analyst before retiring in december '07.

why would kim retire you ask? to become a stay-at-home mom. the biggest news of the year for us came on december 30, when katalia isabel concepcion sorajja was born. all of the parenthood stuff is very new to us, but exciting nonetheless. as the year rolls on, we hope we can share our experience with you.
